Only a Dead Kyubey is a good Kyubey!

Like all the mahou shoujo animes this one proves one thing "Magical girls are made to suffer"

Which she was suppose to have ended it in the first place but nope becomes a god and Kyubey does not get along with the magical girls like the original ending.

magia record's world is somehow not affected by madokami's power, she also dont know the reason why, there are theory saying it is related to iroha as her name 'tamaki' is in the name of the power madokami represent '円環の理'

I'd say it doesn't really make sense to the original. The effect should have ended with Madoka and she obviously exists still as a god in this universe remembering them. In terms the effect of Madoka's godhood would've had to hit before Iroha became a part of the story too making Madoka's sacrifice pointless asides the paradox of beating her own witch and becoming a god. Essentially her power that ended the sacrifices in every timeline after was removed. Taken that in the ending of the first events Homura still remembered events prior to the change and got along with Kyubi after the change. Then that was removed before Iroha's story and the sacrifices continued again.

She's sitting there at the end on stating she'll remember them.

These 4 episodes are deadass better than the first season combined.

Saying that, it still feels... pointless. This timeline doesn't affect rebellion or the original story. It feels TOO disconnected.

The only parts that work, are the fan service parts. Like seeing Kami-Madoka at the end essentially saying "I have a record of your work in one of the timelines" which also is just... bizarre because it implies that Kami madoka is now also aware of all of Homuras time jumps and found THIS one.

Even regular Madoka was aware of Homura's time jumps, though. Not in detail, but she knew they happened. And once she became Kami, she said she could then see what Homura did for her, and it's why she was glad to have that power.

I never had an issue with Magia Record being disconnected, I liked the story enough where the occasional cameo from a Madoka character was a nice bonus, but I didn't need that to enjoy it. Although, NOW it feels disconnected more because certain plot elements were changed from the game, so it feels less true to source material. Not to mention the game's ending was more positive. Also, it didn't really end, exactly, there was plenty of post-game content and side-stories.

Another game plot point: Kami Madoka observing this timeline is confirmed. Not necessarily because of Homura, though. It had more to do with Ui, Touka, and Nemu. And Iroha.

At least it still had a tie in lol. From the start I never viewed Magia Record as anything more than a spin off which is why I was surprised and excited to see OG characters in Gaiden. Anything that tied into the original plot was just a plus, as far as I'm concerned.

Seeing Homura go back in time actually stung.

What did these girls expect? Honestly??
They stood against Magius countless times, ultimately causing the removal of the Doppel system. Now because of Iroha and Yachiyo and the other girls, they've condemned ALL the other magical girls' fates. Why is Iroha so surprised when her Doppel tells her this???

It's stupid how her doppel is smarter than she is. She should have just listened to Nemu and Touka. Surely the Doppel system wasn't perfect, but sacrificing Kamihama would have perfected it and ended the witch system for good.

Now they failed everything. Kamihama is still destroyed, so it doesn't make a difference at all since it wasn't sacrificed. Nothing is saved. The girls are still condemned in this cycle. Those 3 girls' wishes were for nothing. I feel sorry for Ui, Touka and Nemu who put everything into this, that even with their deaths and sacrifices, their dream wasn't fulfilled.

Man. I must say, they really had balls to go about ending so many lives in this anime only ending. Not a single soul, including Alina, die in the game... 😭

And that's exactly the worst part of the ending. In the game, Iroha got her sister back, Touka and Nemu got better, she inspired the girls to create Magia Union and overall, everyone got a happy ending.

Here, Iroha lost Ui, lost Touka and Nemu, lost Kuroe and well, ended the doppel system. Which for some reason was presented here as a bad thing, in the game it was only briefly mentioned that the doppels take a toll on the girl's body and psyche. So everything is now actually WORSE than it was on episode 1...

This was pretty intense at least yachiyo survived but mifuyu, momoko, kuroe , touka , Nemu gone that was so sad :( send my prayers to those 5 for there bravery! Reposted

All the effort for finding her sister was for nothing... The trio died and yachiyo homes died as well... Like is girlie okay? 😭Altho she looks way better in short hair cz that's the "new me" look.
Anyway it's lowkey still Confusing, unnecessary sacrifices were made and my girl homura gonna loop forever, I guess shaft wanted to stick to the original storylime since there's an upcoming movie. And seeing madokami>

I don't think I get the ending, guess I'll have to rewatch and see if it's clearer.
It was sad to see Yachiyo with short hair, why they have to do that!

We don´t see any of this in the original series ; could that imply that time-travelling Homura had to bother yeeting Magius into oblivion every time she rewound so that they didn´t become a threat ? owo

Oof MAN THAT 2ND OP WAS A LIE HUH. I mean yeah this ending is a mixed bag for me, honestly if it plays a part into the 4th film then atleast i can see why its so hopeless, otherwise it just feels miserable for the sake of it. Atleast for the game even if you think it ultimately gets reset by God Madoka, it allowed it to just be a side story doing its own thing. Now that its definitely linked back to canon fully i just hope the pay off is worth it for the 4th film.

My honest opinion!!

Being a part of the Madoka Magica franchise comes with huge expectations, expectations that Magia Record never tried to meet. This is not a sequel, nor an attempt to recreate the original, its a side story for our beloved franchise. 🧡

Its saddening that Iroha's wish ultimately ended up causing more harm then good, poor girl just wanted to save her sister Ui. As for Kuroe i am very sad i loved her character. 😭

Madokami at the end was the last bit i needed to start crying, i feel so empty now without this series.

I heard madoka is also die at the war, but the anime didnt show it, do ppl guess it from homura time travel again? i wonder why madokami didnt help them in anime, as she has help them in the game

At the end was madokami seems like she turned into a goddess and is just watching 😩 the madokami in their world is just her fake version

Best part of this for me was how Iroha embraced Alina in that ultimate hit T_T and of course the end by showing Goddess Madoka closing the record <3
